Description

Chicken nugget sauces are better when you keep them simple with combinations like honey mustard, sriracha mayo, or classic barbecue that let you dip and enjoy without overthinking it. Whatever sauce speaks to your taste buds, whether spicy, sweet, or tangy, works perfectly alongside crispy nuggets for a quick meal that hits the spot.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup

Seasonings and Flavor Enhancers:

  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Pour 1/2 cup of mayonnaise into your mixing bowl as your base.
  2. Add 1/4 cup of ketchup to the mayo and stir everything together for about 30 seconds.
  3. Drizzle in 1 tbsp of honey and blend it in thoroughly at room temperature.
  4. Mix in 1 tsp of mustard until the sauce looks consistent throughout.
  5. Sprinkle 1/2 tsp of garlic powder across the top and fold it in completely.
  6. Add 1/2 tsp of paprika to your mixture and combine well.
  7. Season with 1/4 tsp of black pepper and stir for another 20 seconds.
  8. Finish with 1/4 tsp of salt and mix one final time to distribute it evenly.
  9. Cover your bowl and refrigerate the sauce at 40°F for 30 minutes before you serve it alongside your chicken nuggets.

Notes

  • Honey mustard works best when mixed just before serving because it separates slightly if it sits too long, so consider making it fresh or stirring it again right before your family dips into it.
  • If your sauce tastes too tangy, add a touch more honey to balance the mustard punch and make it more appealing to kids.
  • For a spicy kick that adults enjoy, stir in a pinch of cayenne pepper or hot sauce instead of keeping it mild.
  • This sauce keeps in the refrigerator for up to two weeks, so batch it on Sunday and use it throughout the week with leftover nuggets or as a dipping sauce for veggie sticks and fries.
