Ingredients
Scale
Protein:
- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
Seasonings:
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Bang Bang Sauce:
- 1 ¼ cups mayonnaise
- ⅔ cup Thai sweet chili sauce
- 2 teaspoons Sriracha, or more to taste
- 2 tablespoons honey
Instructions
- Soak your wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before threading the chicken.
- In a large bowl, toss 2 pounds of 1-inch chicken cubes with 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon kosher salt, and ½ teaspoon black pepper until everything is evenly coated.
- Thread 4 to 5 chicken cubes onto each prepared skewer, spacing them slightly apart.
- Whisk together 1¼ cups mayonnaise, ⅔ cup Thai sweet chili sauce, 2 teaspoons Sriracha, and 2 tablespoons honey in a small bowl to create your bang bang sauce.
- Reserve half of your sauce in a separate container for drizzling later, then brush the remaining half generously over your loaded skewers.
- Arrange your skewers in a single layer inside your air fryer basket.
- Cook at 400°F for 11 to 12 minutes total, flipping each skewer halfway through cooking.
- Check that your chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165°F at the thickest part before removing it from the air fryer.
- Transfer your skewers to a serving plate and drizzle with the reserved bang bang sauce.
Notes
- Soak your wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes before threading the chicken so they don’t char in the air fryer.
- Make sure your chicken pieces are cut into roughly the same size so they cook evenly and reach that safe 165°F temperature at the same time.
- The bang bang sauce tastes better when you mix it a few minutes ahead, giving the flavors time to blend together naturally.
- If you’re cooking for someone avoiding spicy foods, reduce the Sriracha amount or skip it entirely and add a squeeze of lime juice to the sauce instead for brightness.
