Description

Getting juicy air fryer chicken breasts on your table is easier than you think, and this method keeps the meat tender while cutting your cooking time in half. A quick seasoning and a hot air fryer are all you need to serve your family chicken that actually tastes moist and flavorful instead of dry.

Ingredients

Scale

Protein:

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts

Cooking fat:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Seasonings:

  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Heat your air fryer to 375°F and let it run for 3 to 5 minutes until it reaches temperature.
  2. Use paper towels to blot your 2 chicken breasts completely dry on all sides.
  3. Coat both sides of each chicken breast with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, making sure they’re evenly covered.
  4. Combine 1/2 teaspoon paprika, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a small bowl and mix together.
  5. Sprinkle your spice blend all over both sides of the chicken breasts and rub it in with your fingers so it adheres well.
  6. Arrange your 2 chicken breasts in a single layer inside the air fryer basket without overlapping.
  7. Cook your chicken at 375°F for 16 to 20 minutes total, flipping each breast halfway through at the 8 to 10 minute mark.
  8. Check that your chicken’s internal temperature hits 165°F at the thickest part using a meat thermometer to confirm it’s fully cooked.
  9. Transfer your cooked chicken to a cutting board and give it 5 minutes of rest time before you slice and serve it.

Notes

  • Patting your chicken completely dry before cooking makes the skin crispy and helps the seasoning stick better.
  • Brush your chicken with olive oil so it browns evenly and stays moist inside while the outside gets golden.
  • Flip your chicken halfway through cooking to ensure both sides cook at the same rate and brown consistently.
  • Don’t skip the 5-minute rest after cooking because it lets the juices settle back into the meat, keeping each bite tender and moist.
  • For a keto or paleo diet, this recipe works perfectly as-is since it’s just protein and basic seasonings with no breading or added carbs.
  • If your air fryer runs hot, check the internal temperature at 14 minutes to avoid overcooking and drying out the chicken.
